Welcome to Shoresh
home of the Jewish girls of Gibraltar

An international project in memory of the 7 Sassoon children killed on Shabbat by a fire in Brooklyn, New York.
Shoresh is proud to bring to Gibraltar...
What is Shoresh?
Shoresh (meaning "Root") is a new organisation that was set up by the girls in Gibraltar, for the girls in Gibraltar. A "grassroots" organisation, if you will...

Who runs Shoresh?
A bit about Shoresh...

Shoresh is run by Madrichot (girls in the top two years of high school) under the guidance of a few post-Sem girls and other helpers.
Shoresh is under the umbrella of the Managing Board of the Jewish Community (MBJC).
Who is Shoresh for?
All Jewish girls of high school age in Gibraltar are welcome.
What's the latest?

Shoresh only sprung into existence in February 2015.
Since then it has hosted Seudat Shelishit communal meals, a Shabbat afternoon group activity, a weekend of activities as part of a Shabbaton with girls from Milan, and now finds itself in the middle of an internaional 7-Week Project.
Not bad for a little tree?
As Shoresh continues to grow up, we will bez"H populate the website more of our events and programmes.
At the moment, though, our main focus is on the Sheva Shabbatot Project.
